The United States Will Prioritize Visa Processing for World Cup Fans!

The 2026 World Cup is coming to the United States—are you ready with your U.S. visa?

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest in history. For the first time, it will be jointly hosted by three countries and kick off in June, featuring 104 matches and 48 teams across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Among them, the United States is the main host—most key matches, knockout rounds, and the final will take place in the U.S.

As the World Cup approaches, the Trump administration has already sent a clear signal: U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide will prioritize visa applications for visitors traveling to the United States to attend major international sporting events, including the World Cup and the Olympics.

At the same time, the U.S. Department of State announced a new initiative—the FIFA Pass.

If you purchase World Cup tickets directly through FIFA, you may be eligible for priority visa interview scheduling. Detailed implementation rules will be released in early 2026. Important: this benefit will be available only to ticket holders.

Next year, applying for a B1/B2 visitor visa could genuinely see a wave of favorable policy momentum. Naturally, some people may be wondering: Does this mean I should rush to buy a World Cup ticket to speed up my visa?In theory, the direction is right—but the specific procedures will depend on official guidance, so don’t act hastily before the rules are finalized.

The World Cup hasn’t even started yet, but visa and immigration policies have already entered “event mode.” The earlier you plan and the more complete your documentation, the more controllable the risk. We’ll continue to track the latest policy developments and bring you timely updates as soon as they’re released.
